Portman Square sits between Marble Arch and Bond Street, a few minutes on foot from either Underground station. Maidstone is around an hour from central London by train.

The Light Centre Marylebone is a consulting room. Dr Matee examines the donor area, measures density, gives a realistic graft count and draws the hairline with you. If surgery is not the right answer, this is where you find out.
Most patients seen at Portman Square live in central or greater London, or commute in from the Home Counties. Kent is the surgical site for almost all of them.
The procedure itself is a single day at the Kent clinic under local anaesthetic, and you travel home the same evening.
An honest answer
Why London is consultations only
It would be straightforward to advertise surgery in central London. Dr Matee does not, because concentrating operating at two sites means one theatre setup, one team and one aftercare process rather than several run to varying standards.
The trade-off is a journey on procedure day. What you get for it is a surgeon working in a room he uses constantly, with the people he always works with — and a follow-up process that does not depend on which city you happened to book in.

Central and greater London, plus commuters from Hertfordshire, Essex, Surrey and Berkshire. For patients in south and east London, Maidstone is often the easier journey of the two.

What happens at Portman Square
The consultation is the part that decides your result, which is why it happens in person rather than over photographs. Dr Matee examines the donor area at the back and sides, measures density, and works out how many grafts are genuinely available — not how many you would like.
The hairline is then drawn on you and agreed before anything is booked. Age, face shape and how the hairline will need to look in twenty years all come into that drawing, and it is the single most common reason a transplant reads as obvious when it goes wrong.
If the honest answer is that surgery would not achieve what you are hoping for, or that your loss is still progressing and you should wait, that is what you will be told at this appointment rather than after paying a deposit.
